VGU Semiconductor Awareness Day 2026 – From Ambition to Action: Design – Reliability – Innovation brings together researchers, industry professionals, and students to examine how semiconductor concepts are translated into practical technologies. Through insightful discussions and expert perspectives, the event provides insight into current technical challenges, emerging research directions, and real-world constraints across the semiconductor value chain.

Introducing Our Speakers:

Harald-Kuhn-(600x600)
Prof. Harald Kuhn
Prof. Harald Kuhn has been director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems ENAS since 2020 and also holds leading roles at Chemnitz University of Technology. Previously a director at Infineon Technologies, he led Automation & Equipment Technology. He studied materials science at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, began his career at Siemens in 1996, and earned his doctorate there. With over 20 years in the semiconductor industry, he has held key management roles, focusing on advanced equipment, automation (Industry 4.0), and innovative technologies such as AI and IIoT, supported by extensive international experience, especially in Asia.
Prof. Klaus Hofmann
Klaus Hofmann is a Full Professor at Technische Universität Darmstadt, leading the Integrated Electronic Systems group in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. His work focuses on analog and digital integrated circuits, high-voltage and high-speed systems, and applications in Industry 4.0. Prior to academia, he held senior roles at Siemens, Infineon, and Qimonda, contributing to advanced semiconductor technologies.

Prof. Alwin Daus
Prof. Dr. Alwin Daus is a professor at the University of Stuttgart and Director of the Institute of Semiconductor Engineering. His research focuses on novel materials, flexible electronics, sensors, and next-generation semiconductor devices. He previously held research positions at institutions including RWTH Aachen, Stanford University, and ETH Zurich, building a strong international profile in electronic materials research.
Mr. Larry Liow
Mr. Larry Liow has more than 25 years of experiences in the semiconductor test business. He focusses on Southeast Asia and India region, strategizing corporate planning, marketing, business development and new product introduction. He leads the vision to bridge the gap between industry and academia, providing leadership and guidance in connecting academia with Advantest, to enable talent and skill developments for the electronic industry.

Dr. Quang-Dam Le
Dr. Quang-Dam Le is the General Director of Marvell Technology Vietnam, with a career spanning algorithm design and leadership roles at Gennum, ATI Technologies (AMD), and Broadcom. Holding a Ph.D. in Signal Processing, he is well known for his expertise in System Architecture, Signal Processing, and Artificial Intelligence.
